"we can all be a superhero to someone"
With 2016 being a leap year Chevrolet had the idea to promote the extra 24 hours as time to seek out and participate in unexpected acts of kindness. It's Day It Forward Campaign.
In early February, Chevrolet expressed an interest in helping us during one of our monthly adventures in Detroit. They provided catered lunches, boxed lunches, sleeping bag coats from The Empowerment Plan, toiletries and a surprise at the end!

This film was shot over a period of six months during our Adventures to help the less fortunate people of Metro Detroit.
With the help of his parents, Super Ewan put together this heart touching film to show the need and struggle that still exist in Detroit.
Ewan helped in writing the script, recording the voice-over, shooting some of the video, picking the music and editing the film with his dad.

Super Ewan and his parents James & Angela Drum, were invited by the White House to attend the second annual White House Student Film Festival on March 20th. Super Ewan earned the invite for the 2 minute film he submitted to the festival called “Super Ewan: Make A Difference”.
Last year’s event was a celebration of technology in education, and this year the film festival event showcased 15 students’ visions on the theme, “The Impact of Giving Back.”
Being chosen as an official selection out of over 1,700 submissions is a great honor and we were all very greatfull for the opportunity to attend.
During the festival President Obama announced that the American Film Institute and SAG-AFTRA pledged to each finalist the opportunity of being mentored by someone in the film industry. Ewan is now being mentored by an executive from Disney and is on his way to turning his short film into a full length documentary!
